My career started in New York City, where I worked at a non-profit focused on public education reform. After realizing that cubicle life is not for me, I decided to chase a lifelong dream and attend culinary school at Johnson and Wales here in Charlotte, North Carolina. After JWU, I packed up my stuff and headed to a small town outside of Lyon, France, where I had the opportunity to study among some seriously talented chefs at a pastry school called ENSP, where I was able to learn new techniques and reinforce skills I learned in culinary school. I returned to Charlotte and spent several years working in the restaurant industry before branching out on my own.
In addition to baking, I also enjoy wine studies and hold a WSET Level 3 award in wines from the Wine & Spirit EducationTrust. I live in Charlotte with my husband and two daughters, who are all excellent taste testers.
